New To Randwick Public School?
If so, we welcome you with open arms into the Randwick Public School family!
You have chosen a wonderful school for your children to learn and grow, not just as students but as citizens of the world we share.
Many of our families were born overseas and we are fortunate to enjoy the multiculturalism that comes with this, in both our playgrounds and classrooms.
At Randwick we are very proud to honour both tradition and change. We have a very progressive team of teachers, helpers and administrators and are led by a fearless leadership group who are always looking for new ways to develop our children.
How can you meet people?
The best way to get in touch is to get involved! RPS has a wonderful P&C and community of volunteers. It is not only a great way to meet other families but it is a proven fact that kids love to see their parents in the classroom, the playground or behind a stall at the school barbecues… If you are happy to be there then they will be too!
Some suggestions:
-
Join the P&C at one of our monthly meetings.
-
Like us on Facebook to get up to date info from the P&C.
-
Come to a working bee on one weekend per term.
-
Join the fundraising team.
-
Host a reading group or help kids one on one with some extra maths.
-
Help out at a school excursion if extra supervision is required.
-
Go to parent dinners or a whole class ‘playdate’.
How do you find out what is happening at school or in the classroom?
-
Via the SkoolBag app. Newsletters and any other important information is sent to your smart phone. Don’t forget to turn on notifications so you don’t miss anything.
-
Via the See-saw app which comes straight from the classroom.
-
Operoo is a central information system that holds any contact information or medical issues we need to know about your child. Permission forms come through here so you don’t need to worry about those lost notes! Please assist the school by completing these as soon as possible.
-
Like the P&C’s Facebook page for live streaming and up to date messages from the P&C.
What if I have a problem?
As parents, we all need to help each other out so:
-
Ask another parent!
